CHROME BOOK - SHUT DOWN
Please log out and SHUT DOWN your Chromebook and not just close it at least once a week.
Let it remain shut down for at least 1 hour or even better while you sleep tonight.
The shut down allows the computer to update itself so it runs more efficiently.
DCS VIRTUAL CALMING ROOM
Need a brain break? Need a place to virtually chillax and zone out for a few minutes?
Take a moment to check out our DCS Virtual Calming Room. You will find live animal cameras, online coloring books, and visual relaxation videos, to name a few.
Cameras and Google Meet - Please encourage your student to turn on the camera on Google Meet during classes. It is difficult to know if a student is on task or is understanding the material when the camera is turned off. Google Meet is releasing a new feature to blur the background that is being pushed out through the next few days.
If your family is experiencing hardship, please see THIS FLYER with information about support available within the Dublin community.
Students decided on their argument project topic and began researching their topic. We reviewed note taking strategies to help students develop claims that can be supported by strong evidence. Students will be designing Ted Talk presentations next week to share their claim and findings.
We are winding down our book clubs and our argument projects. When we complete them, they will be switching over to the other, either book clubs or argument projects. These will bring us to the end of the year. I cannot believe that it is the last day of April today and that May is here! I have enjoyed every moment with your children!
Students are building their understanding of the four quadrants of the coordinate plane and the characteristics of points located in each. They are locating and plotting ordered pairs of positive and negative rational numbers on the coordinate plane. Also, they are determining the relationship between the signs of coordinates of ordered pairs that are reflections across one or both axes. Students will use absolute value to determine distances on the coordinate plane. These skills and understandings will allow students to solve real-world and mathematical problems by graphing points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane.
Students will continue to work on their MATHia goal/s.
