Buildings & Grounds
The Dallas School District Buildings and Grounds department is committed to providing clean, safe, appropriately maintained, and efficiently functioning facilities that enhance the learning environment. The DSD B & G team is comprised of approximately 40 professionals who deliver services to four schools on more than 107 acres of property, including all district athletic fields. Throughout the year, personnel complete countless repairs and general labor requests and are always on hand to take care of emergencies and preventative service requirements alike. They are responsible for handling day-to-day cleaning, maintenance, and building operations (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC) and grounds servicing. Important services also include monitoring environmental issues, landscape construction, trash removal, hazardous waste disposal, snow removal, safety and maintenance inspections, implementing new construction and renovations, warehousing inventory, managing fire protection systems, pest control, pool care, and courier & mail services.
