DEBORAH ROJAS DE LEON
Deborah, Principal of Deborah Rojas Architecture & Planning LLC, is a licenced architect in New York. Deborah has a unique background of working in the construction industry, with architects, and with planners. Deborah has worked for over ten years in New York City. She has worked as a project manager for exterior renovation projects and FISP/LL11 inspections. She has worked closely with the Department of Buildings and Landmarks Preservation Committee to get jobs filed and ready for construction. She has extensive site experience and was a project manager for steel and concrete contractor for six years. Deborah has a masters degree in Urban Planning from Hunter College with a focus in transportation planning. Her work at her time at Hunter College focused on public participation in transportation planning. She received an honorable mention for the 2010 Transportation Excellence Awards. She is involved in the Transportation Research Board (TRB) public involvement committee.
Marina Costa is an Architectural Associate at Deborah Rojas Architecture and Planning. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and Planning, a five year dual degree program, from São Judas University, São Paulo, Brazil, where she graduated from in 2018, and is thrilled to be part of a firm that is fully qualified in Architecture and Urban Design practices. She is also involved with the firm’s marketing strategies. Marina inherited her passion for design and drawing abilities from her father, who is also an Architect. She has been part of the team for a year now and her professional experience has consisted mostly of field surveys, facade repair, interior and commercial renovation .
Lee-Anne Valdez is an Architectural Technology graduate from New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn, NY in 2017. That same year, she had the opportunity to step into the architecture field and has since been gaining work experience up to the present. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with the architect from design development to producing construction documentation to actual construction phase of projects, which are mostly renovation of residential houses and commercial spaces. She has also been involved working on filing and approval of applications of new buildings under the NYC Build-It-Back Program. She has always had the interest to design residential houses/buildings, but has more passion for interior design that involves minimalism and simplicity but with high functionality. She also explores other design-related fields such as graphic design. Lee-Anne has been with the Deborah Rojas Architecture and Planning, LLC team since Spring of 2019.
Jerry Guiracocha is an Architectural Associate at Deborah Rojas Architecture and Planning. At a young age, Jerry’s interest in design lead him to attend Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, one of the only specialized high schools in New York City to offer studies in the visual and performing arts. While in LaGuardia Jerry focused on architecture and fine arts. For his undergraduate degree, Jerry attended the City College of New York, where he obtained his bachelor’s in architecture. During his educational studies at City College, Jerry’s interest has been geared towards resilience and landscaping design strategies. Jerry has been assisting with the drafting of filing drawings and design options at our firm. Jerry has been with the team since September of 2019.
