The Rhoer Club is the youth affiliate of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., one of the Divine Nine (D9) historically Black Greek-letter organizations. My mom is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho, and being part of the Rhoer Club has allowed me to follow in her footsteps. The club focuses on community service, sisterhood, leadership, and personal growth. I've been a member since 7th grade—so for the past four years—and it has truly shaped who I am. I’ve made close friendships and gained valuable life experiences that have helped me grow as a person. The Rhoer Club means more than just volunteering—it's about building confidence, giving back, and being part of a supportive sisterhood. I also love going to conferences.
This is a club I started during my 9th-grade year called Step Up. Step Up is a girl empowerment club designed to help prepare young women for adulthood. The club focuses on building confidence, leadership skills, and career readiness by inviting women from various professional fields to give presentations and share their journeys. These inspiring sessions have exposed us to different career paths and real-world advice from successful women in fields like business, law, education, and healthcare. I absolutely love this club—it has helped me form strong, supportive friendships and has even sparked my interest in the medical field. Step Up has not only helped me grow personally, but it has also motivated me to start thinking seriously about my future and the kind of woman I want to become.
Girl Scouts is an organization that empowers girls by helping them build courage, confidence, and character, all while making a positive difference in the world. I’ve been a Girl Scout since 2015, starting in kindergarten, and it has been a huge part of my life ever since. Over the years, I’ve sold more than 650 boxes of cookies during cookie season, which taught me valuable skills in communication and entrepreneurship. I’ve also earned two of the highest awards in Girl Scouts—the Bronze Award and the Silver Award—and I’m currently in the final phase of completing my Gold Award. Through Girl Scouts, I’ve gained experience in STEM, self-discovery, leadership, networking, and building lifelong friendships. It has shaped me into a more confident and capable young woman.
