In this assignment, i was tasked to answer questions about the different types of health after taking a quiz ro the type of health that I'm most aligned with.
In this assignement, I had to create a digitsl tour of the work done to find health information around the internet.
The piece appears to be made of copper. I believe this based on the dark value and smooth texture. I notice the artists, Augusta Savage on the eyes of the girl, while also balancing the piece by showing the girl's torso. I feel that the piece conveys the innocence of a black girl that was/is rarely equated to a black girl. After analysis, I believe this piece accurately illustrates innocence and despair from the point of view of an African American woman.
Chemistry relates to paper making because of how cellulose and lignen bind together to make the paper. Handmade paper can be made in an art form by cutting the paper and weaving it.
During this activity, I used more ink in the shadows and dark spots and less in in the highlights and light spots. Not only this, but in other works I used more ink as the foreground and less ink in the background.
In this assignement, my partner and I weaved paper with contrasting colors to illistrate ionic bonds. I worked with amani Hampton. We used blue + orange and purple + yellow. This has to do with weaving because we put the paper of and under.
How might cultural and historical contexts have shaped scientific discoveries in making the periodic table?
I think that cultural and historical contexts have shaped scientific discoveries in making the periodic table by influencing how the elements were named. For example, the element Tennessine sounds like Tennessee. I also think that discrimination and the grouping of people that began during the Renaissance period in Europe influenced how the elements were grouped within the Periodic Table. (That may be a stretch)
In this project, we had to create a visual representation of scientists.
In this project, we had to draw the first thing we think of when we think about our element. Since mine doesn't really apply to real-world situations, I created a magical pin drop with glowing aura.
In this project, we had to find an elemnt and create a Bohr model illustrating protons and nuetrons.
The objective of this lab was to see the relationship between paper clips and the distance of the paper airplane.
The objective of this lab was to see which dish soap created the biggest bubble.
I combined STEAM into this project by learning about my element (science), using my computer (technology), designing my art (engineering), drawing the art (art), and finding my element's number of neutrons (math). I learned that Tennessine is the newest element on the Periodic Table. I showed my creativity by mixing different mediums of art. My artwork contains a large range of colors, incorporates highlights and shadows, and includes texture throughout the mediums. The 2 principles of design that are the most important to me are emphasis and balance. I say these because they can seem like opposites, but incorporating them correctly into your art can elevate it. I used these to make my art look good by putting an emphasis on the colors of the dropper, and balancing it out with the atomic number, atomic mass, atomic symbol, and element name.
During this class period, my group and I created flashcards for what we'll say for our presentation. we also answered our essential question that ties to our short film.
During this class period, my group and I filmed our first, third, and last scene. I think the film will come out well because I've already started on the editing process to ensure that our cinematography is up to par.
In these assignments, my group and I separated the work. One person designed and picked out the costumes we'd wear, one person created our prop list, and one person created the PBL Flyer.
In this assignment, our class had an acting and improv workshop where we honed our skills. I learned to always go with things and react to what you're given.
Mandala's can be used to calm the nervous system. They are related to Mesoamerican civilizations too. I can see movement, balance, rhythm, and repetition in Mandalas. I can use a mandala to show an atom by making it a diagram of an atom.
In my opinion, art is something that captures a moment and makes you feel something, whether the feeling is positive or negative. For example, chemistry can be art. Like artists, chemists imprint matter with their imagination. Through chemical reactions, they transform substances, shaping their forms and functions, much like an artist shapes a canvas.
