For this essay, I chose a topic that I’m genuinely interested in—kneeling during the national anthem. I decided to focus on this issue because I’m passionate about sports, especially football, and wanted to explore a topic with real significance. Kneeling during the anthem gained national attention when professional athletes began using it as a form of peaceful protest during the Black Lives Matter movement.
For this writing assignment , I had to choose a role (Walter, Beneatha, Mama, Ruth, or Travis); the person I choose for the Role category will be the character from whose point of view. Then, I choose an audience member (Walter, Beneatha, Mama, Ruth, or Travis): who will my role speak, write, or perform to? Next, I choose format (Letter, Poem, Video, Speech, or Write an extra scene in the play) . Finally, I decided the critical topic from Act 1 of "A Raisin In The Sun" that you’d like to address (dreams, What to do with the $10,000?, education, Ruth's pregnancy, and the apartment).
This song has a very fast tempo. It's sounds very cheerful. I really like how it sounds. I noticed in the middle it's gets a bit slower then goes back to its fast tempo sounding like the beginning. My part of the piece looks difficult. While looking at the piece, I realize that we have a large rest for 8 measures.
I know that the nutcracker is usually a ballet performance, but some movies are called the Nutcracker. I have seen the Nutcracker many of times in the past. The main character name is Clara. I know there are many different types of instruments played like the harp, violin, viola and many more.
This song makes me think of a Lullaby. All of the instruments together sounded really soothing and pretty. It sounds like the beginning or end of a Disney or Pixar movie. I hear a lot of different instruments like brass, woodwinds, string, and percussion instruments.
The different harp techniques that I noticed that she was using was the rolled cord, dynamics, and she also used a glissando. I liked the pieces that she played. They were very moving. The meanings behind the pieces were intriguing. I liked the performance, the background, and I liked how the camera highlighted everyone's face and the instruments they were playing. I also like the clothing they wore, to me it felt like it matched the pieces they were playing. The lighting complimented their faces, I like how it look. I liked the music selection of that they chose, also the flow of the concert was nice. It made me calm when I hear the pieces. I heard jazz and soul genres. The name of the pieces was called, Lift Every Voice and Sing, Brand New Life, Moving Target, and Unrest.
Vienna is home to many famous music composers that were born in the 19th century such as, Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert. Vienna's crime rate is astonishingly low, especially for such a large city. Vienna is famous for its impressive architecture from various eras, including Baroque palaces, Vienna Secession buildings, and modern designs. The piece that we listen to in class is called La Truite (The Trout), it was very classical, had many different instruments playing, and sounded like it would be in the part in a high intensity part of an action movie. After we watched the music video, and it had pictures and the English translation and talked about a fisherman trying to catch the fish.
