Argos the Abandoned
Argos the Abandoned
For this project, my group chose to focus on Odysseus' dog, who was abandoned, first by Odysseus when he left for Troy and was unable to get back, then by the people as an older dog as he had fulfilled his purpose of hunting in Ithaca and was left to a pile of dung. We dissected his emotional state and symbolized it with the blackness of the box. We compared his plight to that of an abandoned, and even the colors are symbolic. The blue on both figures represents their faith and loyalty and the red represents the anger that can fester from the situation if not properly addressed and process. It is drawn through the child's veins to represent these toxic effects. This project is meant to represent that, as is the case for millions, Argos' situation is unfortunate and necessary to have conversations about.

For this project, we were asked to make or do something creative for a reflection on the current COVID-19 virus and its quarantine all over the US and the world. For it, I choose to create a song to express how I was feeling during the virus. The song is about the longing for the company of my friends, yet the inability for them to be beside me.

9th Grade Summative Spanish Project: Las Celebraciones
The objective of this project was to show mastery of celebrations vocabulary through presentational speaking, combined with an increased knowledge of celebrations in Spanish-speaking regions. For this, we were supposed to create a presentation that detailed a celebration in a Spanish-speaking country, answering questions of what, where, when the celebration is, who attends the celebration, what people eat there, and most importantly, why do people go? I chose to my project on Las Falles de Valencia, a wood burning festival in Valencia, Spain, where history and culture are on full display.
