World Literature exposed me more intimately to the work of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. I came to know and love the premise and characters. For one of our activities in World Literature, we were asked to deliver one of the monologues from Caesar's funeral. I was given Brutus' part, and to add to the project requirements, I made a full video and made music around the concept, all in my room
For part of our final in AP Computer Science, we were tasked with creating something that could be used to solve a problem, enable innovation, explore personal interests, or express creativity. My response to this was to build a simple quiz game that asked about celebrities with similar names. Although the concept is simple, I was able to combine my prior skills with HTML and CSS languages with my newfound understanding of Javascript, jQuery, and Bootstrap to make something original.
One of our larger projects in World Literature was to write a novel, starting at the beginning of the year and publishing near the end. We were asked to do three pages each week for the first semester, then five a week in the second. Though sometimes it became frustrating to analyze and reanalyze my plot, I'm very proud of the characters and world that I was able to build. Now, you can purchase LOCK on Amazon physically or as a eBook. Being a published author feels good.
In our Chemistry and Art classes, we studied a discipline that combined the concepts fro both: cooking! I made a French cuisine known as Duck a l'Orange, and took great video and photo of my creation.
