With this assignment we had to write a book about famous Hispanic person this project helped me learn more about to culture and Rosalia. She's a famous Spanish pop and flamenco singer. She has been described as an "atypical pop star" due to her genre-bending musical styles. Rosalía studied flamenco at the Catalonia College of Music, where only one student is accepted per year into the flamenco program.
During this project, we were assigned a specific country and had to create a recipe book featuring traditional dishes from that country. Our book had to include at least one entrée and either an appetizer or a dessert. I learned how to make tres leches cake and chifrijo, and I also learned how to write out the ingredients and recipes in Spanish. One of the main challenges I faced was translating certain words that weren't part of our regular vocabulary, which made it harder to describe the steps and ingredients accurately in Spanish.
For our final project this semester, we had to create our own children’s story using the past tense in both Spanish and English. We wrote the story, drew pictures for each page, and recorded ourselves reading it out loud. My story is called Nuevos Amigos (New Friends), and it’s about a princess named Isabela who meets a sad dragon in the forest. They become friends and live happily ever after. This project helped us practice using past tense in Spanish, improve our writing and speaking skills, and be creative at the same time.
