This was a bubbles lab, that we were give 3 types of soap and see which one of them makes the biggest bubble and the smallest bubble while also looking at the colors, shapes and other observations.
This was our skittle lab, where we had to guest how many skittles were in the small pack and guessing what are the colors that we saw in the bag.
This is our Element of Art project, where she gave us a element and we had to search up what things incorporated in the element and draw a drawing of the item we searched up.
This is our Bohr Model project, where we also given an element and draw the bohr model based on the amount of protons, neutrons, amd electrons.
For this project, we were given many different ways to show the history of periodic table. My way of showing the history of periodic table was doing the Mount Rushmore and drawing down important figures involved in the periodic table an given an explanation to why.
How might cultural and historical contexts have shaped scientific discoveries in making the periodic table?
I believe cultural and historical context played a major role in shaping scientific discoveries, especially in the development of the periodic table. Most of the credited contributors were white men from Europe, which reflects the lack of diversity in science at the time. If these discoveries had come from people in different regions or cultural backgrounds, the periodic table might have developed differently. I also believe that if a woman had made the same discoveries, her work likely wouldn’t have received the same recognition due to gender bias.
Our Chemistry Finale was a choice board. One of the choices that I chose was Isotopes vs. Ions. For this project we were asked to give the definition of both isotopes and ions, and provide examples and visuals on them.
