My name is Alani Andrews and I am a student at Drew Charter School. I am a part of a family of four including my sister Zoe, my mother Dr. L. Andrews, and my father Chris Andrews. I am currently a senior at Charles R. Drew Charter School and simultaneously taking courses at Georgia State University. Because I have yet to graduate high school, I have not declared a major, however, when I do become a full-time college student, I plan on double majoring in music and another subject of interest, which as of now will most likely be Mathematics or Spanish. I am a native Atlantan and have never lived anywhere else. Throughout my high school career, I have participated in numerous extracurricular activities and clubs such as the Youth Physicians Initiative, the debate team, harp and I have served as captain of both the soccer team and track team. My competitive and tenacious spirit has resulted in me always wanting to be my best in both my sports and my academics. Since a child, I have always been invested in music. I started my musical journey with the piano at the age of four and later picked up the violin around the age of nine. In the seventh grade, I was introduced to the harp and was encouraged to play by my older sister Zoë, who had taken up the instrument herself and is currently continuing her studies as a harpist at the University of Georgia class of 2021.
My goal throughout my high school career was to become my high school's valedictorian and eventually go on to college on a full scholarship. I am happy to announce that I have achieved that goal and I have also been named Drew Charter School's Star Student as well! Once I graduate from college I plan to go to Medical school and become an anesthesiologist.
