eSafety

Valid from 2017 to 2020 this award recognises members of staff that are fully aware of the procedures, practice and attitudes for eSafety expected of everyone in the David Ross Education Trust community. The award is only awarded on the basis of completing an approved course and cannot be claimed based on prior experience.

People with this award:

  • Can respond appropriately to any eSafety incident, understanding the key steps to be taken and who to inform and the requirements to ensure any children affected are safe.
  • Are aware of the main threats related to eSafety, in the context of the positive aspects of being online.
  • Understand the issues surrounding the use of social media by staff in an educational organisation, both in a personal and professional capacity.
  • Are equipped to deliver the relevant parts of the curriculum to any children in their care.
