When is Election Day?
Community members will vote on the referendum on the general election date of Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
What question will appear on the ballot?
Voters will see the following question on the ballot on Tuesday, November 5, 2024:
Shall the Dodgeville School District, Iowa County, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $2,990,000 per year for four years, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year and ending with the 2027-2028 school year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of operational expenses, including educational programming?
How do I register to vote?
Voter registration is required in Wisconsin. All voters must provide a Proof of Residence document when registering to vote by mail, in-person in the clerk’s office, or at the polls on Election Day. For more information, visit: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/Register-To-Vote
By Mail:
Download the Application for Voter Registration, complete the form and mail it into your municipal clerk's office up to 5:00pm on the 13th day before the election, along with a copy of your proof of residence.
Deadline to Register by Mail: October 16, 2024
Online:
Register to vote online at MyVote Wisconsin.
Residents with a valid Wisconsin Driver's License or Photo Identification card with their current Wisconsin address can register online without having to print or mail in any forms. If you need to update your address, you can do this online with the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles.
Deadline to Register Online: October 16, 2024
In Person:
Register in the municipal clerk's office during the clerk's business hours until 5:00 pm on the Friday before the election. You must bring your proof that you have lived at your present location for 28 days preceding the election.
Deadline to Register at the Municipal Clerk's Office: November 1, 2024
At the Polling Place on Election Day:
If you wish to register to vote at your polling place, you must bring proof that you have lived at your present location for 28 days preceding the election.
Deadline to Register at Polling Place: November 5, 2024
Note that if you have a Wisconsin Driver's License, that number is required on the registration form. If you do not have a WI Driver's License you may use a Wisconsin identification card number. If you have neither of these, the last four digits of your Social Security number are acceptable. One of these numbers plus your birth date are required to process your registration.
For purposes of voter registration, acceptable Proof of Residence may be your Driver’s License or another document that includes:
A current and complete name, including both the given and family name; and
A current and complete residential address, including a numbered street address, if any, and the name of your municipality.
Eligible voters can register up to election day, and can even register at the polls.
The deadline to register by mail is March 12, 2025. If you miss this deadline, you can still register in person at your municipal clerk’s office until 5:00 p.m. on March 28, or at your polling place on Election Day.

Can I vote early?
Registered voters in Wisconsin may vote early by mail by requesting an absentee ballot. To request an absentee ballot, visit: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/Vote-Absentee-By-Mail. Voters must provide a photo ID with their absentee ballot request.
Deadline for In-Person Absentee Request: October 22 - November 3, 2024
Voters can possibly request and vote an absentee ballot in-person in their municipal clerk’s office through November 3, 2024. Office hours vary by municipality. Please note, some municipal offices may not offer additional in-person absentee hours.
Deadline to Return Absentee Ballot: November 5, 2024
If you have already received an absentee ballot, you must return your absentee ballot by mail or delivery to your municipal clerk. Your ballot must be received by your municipal clerk no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
