Library/Technology January Challenge

Welcome to the January Library/Technology Challenge! There are three different categories to choose from. Try to challenge yourself to do something from all three! By the end of the month, create a post about one of your favorite activities on the Library/Technology Padlet.

Category 1: Library Activities


Mock Caldecott: On Monday, January 25th, the Caldecott Medal will be awarded to the best picture book from 2020. The Caldecott is given for amazing, innovative illustrations that help tell the story in a picture book every year. Read the following books and then vote on which one you think should win the Caldecott this year.

Explore an author: Take some time to read a book or two by an author you have never read before, and then create a bookmark based on the author/book that you read. Here are some websites with book ideas: Kid Lit TV , Storyline Online , Denver Public Library Recommendations

Category 2: Technology Activities


Keyboarding: 3rd - 5th graders work in Typing Club

Category 3: Research Activities


Use a variety of sites to do some research on a topic that interests you. Once done, make a slideshow or a Google Draw poster to present your findings. Or, you could even make a diorama to display your knowledge. Share it with someone at home!
