District 6 and 4 Recap
Wisconsin DECA 01/11/2025
Districts 6 and 4 competitions highlighted the talent and dedication of Wisconsin DECA members as they showcased their skills. Whether advancing to SCDC or exploring new opportunities for growth, members are discovering how DECA impacts their future, both during and beyond high school.
Wisconsin DECA’s Districts 6 and 4 competitions brought together bright and determined members from chapters across the southeast and northeast regions for an exciting showcase of talent, preparation, and passion. Held earlier this month and in December, these events marked a significant step in the journey toward the State Career Development Conference SCDC and ultimately, the International Career Development Conference.
District 6 competitors gathered at Racine Case High School on December 14th, 2024 while District 4 participants met at Bay Port High School on January 4th, 2025. Each school buzzed with energy as members presented roleplays and showcased their hard work. Both competitions featured a wide range of DECA's available competitive events, providing a platform for members to excel.
For those advancing to SCDC, the hard work continues, with opportunities to fine-tune skills and strive for excellence. But for members who did not qualify this year, the journey doesn’t end here. DECA is about more than competition; it’s about building skills, relationships, and experiences that last a lifetime.
Opportunities for Growth Beyond Competition
Members who didn’t make it to state can focus on honing their skills by participating in chapter events, attending workshops, and volunteering for leadership roles. Activities like assisting in chapter projects or helping younger members prepare for next year’s competition provide valuable experiences that foster growth and leadership.
For seniors, DECA offers a unique platform to leave a lasting impact. Consider mentoring underclassmen, engaging in community service initiatives, or completing your chapter’s year on a strong note. The skills and experiences gained through DECA, such as public speaking, teamwork, and problem-solving, are transferable to college and careers, making the investment in your DECA journey worthwhile.
Looking Ahead
Whether you’re preparing for SCDC, continuing to build your skills, or reflecting on your time in DECA, the organization provides endless opportunities to grow as a leader and professional. Districts 6 and 4 proved to be more than just competitions; they were reminders of the incredible potential within every DECA member.
Congratulations to all competitors, and remember that every step in this journey contributes to your future success, both in and out of DECA. Whether you’re advancing to the next stage or making an impact in other ways, your DECA experience is only just beginning.
