What is a ROLE PLAY Event?
What is a ROLE PLAY Event?
During Role Play/Case Study events, competitors are challenged to think quickly and effectively solve a business situation presented to them. They have a limited amount of time to prepare, either ten (10) minutes individually or thirty (30) minutes as a team of two (2) for Team Decision Making Events. After working through the situation, competitors present their solution in an interactive session with judges.
In addition to the role plays, students also take a 100-question exam based on their event. This exam tests content knowledge and contributes to 1/3 of the final score, with role plays making up the other 2/3.
All events are generated using Performance Indicators, which are aligned with National Curriculum Standards. While competitors may encounter some of these Performance Indicators in business or marketing-related classes, additional outside preparation is highly recommended.
One way too prepare for Role Play Events is right here through the Competition Cabinet! Competitors can study Performance Indicators, review practice exams, and engage in practice role plays. These resources and tools for preparation are readily available, and can be found right here in the Competition Cabinet!
