This is a NCDPI online course offered in CANVAS. This course will provide a brief history of the Founding Principles legislation. The Founding Principles Cluster document, created by NC DPI to support teachers in teaching the Founding Principles, will be used to help teachers in their instruction. Finally, teachers will evaluate their own high school AHFPCE course in light of the Cluster Document.
This course will take approximately 20 hours to complete and is worth 2 CEUs upon completion.

This Canvas course is directed to those interested in learning about Inquiry Design. This course provides an overview of the four dimensions of the Inquiry Arc. This course includes modules that are to be completed before and after the Ashbrook Institute Seminar. By the end of this course, participants will have created their own Inquiry Design Model Blueprint. This course is facilitator-led. The majority of this course, Modules 1-4, will be completed prior to the Ashbrook Institute Seminar. Module 5 will be completed after the seminar.
This course will take approximately 7 hours to complete and is worth 0.7 CEU upon completion.

Rigor and Engagement for Growing Minds is a dynamic book recommended for those interested in research-based instructional practice proven effective with advanced and gifted learners. This course has been designed as a professional development book study to help support the planning and delivery of instruction for honors level social studies courses and classes in which teachers need to address advanced level learners.
This course is self-paced. This course will be offered once during the fall and once during the spring. The course is worth 3 CEUs upon completion.
