Holocaust Education Workshops In North Carolina

In close partnership with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust presents eight to nine teacher workshops throughout the school year at sites across the state. Over 12,000 teachers and administrators have attended Council workshops since 1989.

Each workshop focuses on one of six topics:

  1. Why Teach about the Holocaust in 2019?
  2. Historical and Contemporary Anti-Semitism
  3. The History of the Holocaust: The N.C. Connection
  4. Resistance in the Holocaust
  5. State of Deception: Nazi Propaganda
  6. Oath and Opposition: Education in the Third Reich.

THE NC COUNCIL ON THE HOLOCAUST

The North Carolina Council on the Holocaust is an agency of the N.C. Department of Public Instruction It provides teacher workshops and educational resources across the state.

ONE-DAY TEACHER WORKSHOPS

One-day workshops are offered across the state at no charge and are open to all North Carolina middle and high school teachers and administrators. Substitute pay is provided for public school teachers.

STATE OF NC HOLOCAUST COMMEMORATION

The 2020 State of North Carolina Holocaust Commemoration will be held Sunday afternoon, April 19, 2020, in Raleigh.
