Student Diary

The student diary is an important form of communication between parents and the College. Students are encouraged to use the diary to assist them in achieving their personal best and in particular attaining academic and extra-curricular excellence.

The diary should be used by students in organising their daily timetable, homework and study habits. It should assist them in becoming independent and self-motivated learners. Additionally, the diary has important wellbeing activities and reminders to support students.

It is important that students understand that the diary remains the property of the College. It is not a personal diary and should not be damaged or covered in graffiti or pictures. It should be used in the following way:

  • Students enter all set homework, assignments and study.

  • Parents sight the diary regularly as teachers may use it for basic communication.

  • Parents sign the diary at least once a week to ensure that set work is done.

  • The homeroom teacher signs the diary weekly to check that it has been shown to parents and also to check for any communication from the parents.

  • Both parents and class teachers can use the diary for informal communication.
