Dover-Sherborn Girls Soccer
Fostering excellence on the field and in life.
🏆
The DSGS mission is for our players, coaches, and teams to become the best version of ourselves through the game of soccer. We value the legacy of the program’s past while advancing the program into the future.
While we relentlessly pursue victory, our self-worth is rooted in daily growth, and our true success is measured by how well our players thrive in life long after they graduate.
Winning on the field and in life is a consequence of our daily habits, mindset, and teamwork.

"A value driven team chooses courage over comfort and what is right over what is easy."
The 2018 team was heroic and established a new era in DS Girls Soccer history. The players wanted to evolve the program culture to balance winning with growth, competition with sportsmanship, and hierarchy with inclusivity. An organizational culture expert ran a workshop with the players and transformed their actions on the field into an ethos to live by. The four DSGS Core Values were born.
Since the inception of our Core Values, the Varsity team has won
3x State Final Four Championships, 2x League Championships, 4x League Sportsmanship Awards, and 1x National Sportsmanship Award.
DSGS believes that you can be successful and do it with class.
Win the day.
We win before the game begins through our preparation.
We focus on growth and strive for consistent 1% gains.
We “flip the switch” in mind and body and compete with the energy of a champion.
We surrender the outcome and celebrate the process.
Thrive in the challenge.
We are relentless in our pursuit of the win, focus on opportunities, and play with nothing to lose.
We take risks, clean sheet, and adapt to the uncontrollables.
We play present and compete against the controllables with courage and class.
We focus on the next play, not the sorry, and view our main opponent as our past self.
Respect the experience.
We arrive early and respect time.
We are grateful for our opportunity and those who create it. Our mindset is, “We get to…”
We leave our fields and equipment better than we found it.
We respect our teammates, opponents, and ourselves by physically and verbally picking each other up.
Put the team above me.
We own our role and empower the role of our teammates.
We are selfless in our body language and attitude and sacrifice our own accolades for the team's success.
We hold each other accountable for being at our best and are a dry sponge to feedback and learning.
We seek honest and transparent conversations and have them face to face.
We never talk negatively about a teammate or coach behind their back. If we can't say it to their face, we don't say it to others.
"Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and having the impact last in your absence."
