About Mrs. Sanderson

Colossians 3:23 What ever you do, work at it with all your heart, as if working for the Lord...

I have been teaching at St. Louis School since 2002. I worked as the lead teacher in the Three-Year-Old Preschool Program for four years and the last sixteen years have been at the Kindergarten level. My favorite subject to teach is Religion

Prior to St. Louis, I taught First Grade at St. Ambrose School and prior to that I designed a Preschool program for Three and Four-Year-Olds at the Ken-Ton Family YMCA in Buffalo, New York. I also spent twenty-two years at the Former Pittsford YMCA as a life guard and swim instructor.

I earned a BS degree in Elementary Education from Buffalo State College with a concentration in Early Childhood Education, MS in Early Childhood Education from Nazareth College, and my permanent New York State Teaching Certification.

For the last thirty-two years, I have been active in the Rochester YMCA organization as a volunteer and member. I have made Rochester my home for the last thirty-four years, after growing up in the Buffalo area. While growing up in Buffalo, I attended Mount St. Mary Academy High School, and I and my four siblings were active in faith formation programs, CYO, Intercity Youth Programs, and clubs involving both indoor and outdoor activities. I am married to husband Dave, have two grown sons and two daughters-in-law!

When I am not teaching, my husband and I care for our parents who still live in Buffalo, we workout at the Y, tend the many gardens on our property, hike/bike/run, and spend time with family.

I am delighted to be a member of the faculty at St. Louis School because with Jesus in the classroom, the faith-filled families, and the caring staff - it feels like home.
