Mrs. Dever's First Grade

Hello 1D First Graders and Families!!

1D has accepted the KINDNESS CHALLENGE

I TOO Have A Dream

Each 1D Student shared their dreams on how they would like to impact the world. With their thoughts and ideas, I know this world's future will be bright!!!

Merry Christmas to ALL!!

I hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas!! We had a fun filled few days celebrating the holidays and birth of Christ. One of our favorites was Grinch Day! We wore PJ's and took part in several Grinch Activities through out the day!

Meet Miss Wilson

Miss Wilson is a sophomore at Keuka College who is doing 5 weeks of observational hours in our classroom. She is looking to enter the Early Education Program there and aspires to be a PK through 1st grade teacher one day. We in 1D are more then happy to have her!! We are enjoying getting to know her, as she is us! Her first week with us has been incredibly eventful! We are looking forward to things slowing down a little and getting back on track :-)

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

We had an awesome 2 day week in 1D!! We had a great Thanksgiving party on Monday filled with Turkey themed Read Alouds, activities and painting!! We can't forget the snacks and parent helpers too!! We were so thankful for those who sent in supplies and helped out! Then on Tuesday, we used the scientific method in a fun Thanksgiving themed STEM Challenge. We read all about Tony Sarg, the marionette maker and toy collector immigrant, that helped turn the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in to the most loved and watched Parade in the world. We brainstormed, planned, designed, and created our very own balloon floats and had our own parade to the office. Ask your kiddo about Tony and maybe watch a few minutes of the Parade on Thanksgiving. I know they will have so much to share with you!!

Happy Halloween Everyone!!

Pronouncing "Dever"

It is just like saying "ever" or "never" but with a D.

So, Dever :-)
