DOH REGULATED HEALTH FACILITIES AND SERVICES
The Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (HFSRB) is mandated by law under RA No. 4226 or "the Hospital Licensure Act" to serve as the main data repository of all DOH-regulated health facilities and services. Sec. 6 of the said law provides that the HFSRB shall publish lists of all regulated hospitals and health facilities, and submit yearly reports on licensing to the Secretary of Health, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and Committees on Health of Both Houses of Congress. Likewise, under DPO No. 2020-1124 dated April 14, 2020, the Data Management Unit (DMU) was created and signed by the current OIC Secretary of Health Dr. Maria Rosario S. Vergeire, and reconstituted under DPO No. 2022-1617 dated April 28, 2022, signed by the Health Regulation Team Undersecretary Atty. Charade B. Mercado-Grande.
The HFSRB Data Management Unit (DMU) is mandated to perform the following functions to provide quality, efficient, and reliable health facility data:
Consolidate statistical reports submitted by health facilities;
Develop and enhance databases for the regulated health facilities and services.
Maintain the National Registry of all regulated health facilities and services in line with the Universal Health Care (UHC);
Timely Provide the information requested by other government offices, private agencies, media practitioners, the academe, researchers, etc.;
Analyze consolidated data;
Submit pertinent reports on regulated health facilities and services to other DOH offices and other government agencies like the Senate, House of Representatives, DBM, NEDA, MARINA, DFA, etc.;
Maintain and update the Bureau's website
