Step 3
Assess students' progress toward SLG using previously approved assessments
Analyze results
The educator and evaluator review the results
The evaluator reviews SLG attainment and evaluates the level of achievement of the SLG before assigning the score based on the SLG Scoring Rubric (below)
The Educator and evaluator reflect on the process and results to improve student learning and educator practice
Near the end of the evaluation cycle, students are assessed and results are then compared to expectations set in the SLG. Based on previously set targets, the SLG Scoring Rubric (below) is used to determine the educator’s score from 1 to 4. This number becomes the raw Student Performance Domain score of the Summative Evaluation Tool. The evaluator and educator discuss this information during the Final Summative Evaluation Conference for the purposes of reflection and to inform the improvement of the process for the following school year.
NOTE: State law requires that the evaluation of a probationary teacher or administrator in his or her initial year of employment as a probationary teacher or administrator must NOT include student performance data. (NRS 391.695 and 391.715)
