Ms. Karen Paula Manalo-Suliguin is a Mental Health Trainer at the International Seafarers Welfare and Assistance Network - Philippines. She finished her bachelor's degree in Biology at UP Los Baños, took graduate units in Psychology at the University of Roehampton - London (online), and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Personality and Individual Differences Psychology at UP Diliman.
She has been an active mental health advocate, public speaker, and trainer and has had several speaking engagements in biology and psychology. These include topics such as “The Relationship between the Gut Microbiota-Brain Axis” and “Cognition, Diet and Mental Health”, and “The Neuroscience of Memory”.
Her research interests include humility as a trait and state, how the human-pet-dog bond is influenced by or influences personality, the gut-brain connection, and how neuroscience and behavioral genetics explain personality.
