Our trip to Rangamati, organized by the Computer and Programming Club (CPC), was a mix of adventure and beauty. It was a chance to bond with the department head, our teachers, and club members making memories that combined learning, laughter and exploration.
The journey started with excitement as we reached Rangamati, known as the "Lake City of Bangladesh". We checked in at Bargee Lake Resort, a beautiful resort located by the lake. The resort’s peaceful environment, greenery and wooden architecture made it the perfect place to relax and get soaked in Rangamati’s natural beauty.
We started the day with a warm welcome from the resort staff and a briefing from our club leaders. The peaceful atmosphere of the resort and the view of Kaptai Lake set the tone for the rest of the day.
The next part of our trip was to see the Rangamati’s beautiful landscapes by boat. A colourful boat, decorated with many colours, was waiting for us by the lake. We put on our life jackets, and we are ready to go. We started our journey across the sparkling water of Kaptai Lake. Our first stop was Shuvolong Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by mountains. The waterfall was really beautiful, its water was flowing into the lake. We were all amazed. Teachers and students were taking photos and enjoying the mist.
Then we went to Hanging Bridge, a famous landmark of Rangamati. Walking on the bridge was an adventure in itself; the view of the surrounding mountains and the lake was breathtaking. It was a good spot for group photos; everyone – students, teachers and our department head – posed together to capture the moment.
We stopped at a Chakma tribal village during our boat ride where we learned about the Chakma culture and customs. Our teachers chatted with the locals while we explored their handicrafts and tried some traditional snacks. The villagers’ hospitality and stories made us appreciate Bangladesh’s diversity. Later, we visited Rajban Vihar Buddhist Monastery, a peaceful oasis. The calm and spiritual atmosphere was inspiring and we spent some time learning about its history from our guides.
As the sun set, we returned to Bargee Lake Resort, where a special evening was planned. Under the open sky by the lake we gathered for a barbecue dinner. The smell of grilled food, the laughter and the sparkling water under the moonlight made the evening magical. In the raffle draw, I got the 2nd prize, which was something to remember. Our department head and teachers shared their thoughts on balancing academics with experiences that nourish the soul. It was a moment of togetherness where the barriers between teachers and students dissolved, and we felt like one big family.
It wasn’t just a tour of the beautiful landscapes but a tour of friendship, learning and discovery. With CPC members, teachers and our department head, it was an experience we will never forget. Because, beyond the codes and algorithms, academic curricular, life has moments of beauty and connection that nourish our souls.
