IAS stands for the Industry Applications Society. It is one of the largest special-interest societies within the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). While IEEE covers all of electrical engineering, IAS specifically focuses on the unique needs of industry and commerce. Its motto is "Linking Research to Industry."
The mission of the IEEE IAS DIU Student Branch Chapter is to promote and support the professional development of its members by providing opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration. The chapter aims to empower students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in their careers and contribute to the advancement of technology in the industrial sector.
The vision of the chapter is to become a leading student organization that inspires and prepares the next generation of engineers and technologists to tackle the challenges of modern industry. By fostering a culture of innovation, leadership, and ethical practice, the chapter strives to make a meaningful impact on both its members and the broader community.
The IAS Advantage
What is an IAS Chapter?
While regular coursework teaches theory, we focus on application. We answer the question: "How do we actually build, power, and secure these systems in a real factory or power plant?"
