Dear West Oak Intermediate Families,
We are excited to share the many engaging and meaningful learning experiences happening across our school! Our students are not just learning content—they are actively experiencing it in ways that make learning fun, relevant, and memorable.
This week, 3rd grade classes hosted a market where they created goods to sell and set prices based on supply and demand as part of their social studies economics unit. Our 4th graders also had the opportunity to visit Ryerson Conservation Area, where they explored animal adaptations and connected their learning to their science unit. Looking ahead, our 5th grade team is planning an in-house field trip that will include an anti-bullying speaker, aligned to our social-emotional learning standards—more information will be shared soon!
These types of experiences help bring learning to life. When students are engaged and excited about what they are learning, it leads to deeper understanding and lasting growth.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Natalie Kalette
Principal
