🌸 Día de los Niños Celebration

Today, our students had a wonderful time celebrating Día de los Niños! The day was filled with joyful activities, including enjoying conchas while playing Lotería, creating a special craft, and cooling off with a sweet treat. We ended the celebration with an exciting live concert featuring a mariachi band. It was a meaningful day honoring children, culture, and community, and we loved seeing our students fully engaged in the experience.

🔤 ABC Countdown
Our ABC Countdown continues next week, and it has been so much fun celebrating all of the hard work students have put into their learning this year. Thank you for helping your child participate in each day’s activities!

💙 Kindness Day – May 22

☀️ Field Day Volunteers Needed – May 26
We are looking for volunteers to help make Field Day on May 26th a success! If you are interested in volunteering, please visit the PTO sign-up located in the PTO News section below.

⭐ DLS Spotlight on Learning – Tuesday, May 5
Diamond Lake School will be featured at the School Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 5th for our Spotlight on Learning. Our 2nd grade teachers and several students will present to the Board about the incredible learning and work happening at Diamond Lake School this year. We would love for families to tune in to the live feed or attend in person to celebrate all of the amazing work happening at our school.

Here is a look at our student attendance for the week:

• Monday- 92.5%

• Tuesday- 96.2%

• Wednesday- 91.7%

• Thursday- 95.5%

• Friday- 93.2%

Dear Families,

We are excited to share that Friday, May 22, 2026, is our All District Kindness Day! On this special day, all Diamond Lake School students and staff will be spending the day at the West Oak Campus as we come together to celebrate kindness across District 76.

Important Details:

• DLS students will depart at 9:00 AM and return by 1:30 PM.

• There will be no staff in the Diamond Lake School building during the day.

• If you need to reach us while we are off-site, please call the West Oak Middle School office at 847-566-9220.
  
  

Pre-K Specific Information for Kindness Day – May 22, 2026

Please note the following details for our Pre-K families:

• AM Pre-K student dismissal will take place at Diamond Lake School at the usual time of 10:10 AM.

• PM Pre-K student drop-off will be at Diamond Lake School at 11:40 AM.

• The bus transporting PM students to West Oak will depart at 12:00 PM.
  
  

D76 CARES: At D76, the well-being of our students and families is our top priority. Understanding the critical role mental health plays in student success, we have launched D76 CARES - a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving access to quality mental health services across our community. D76 CARES stands for Community, Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement, and Support. Treatment services are initially provided free of charge to district families for up to 8 sessions. Staff Appreciation Week- May 4th-8th.  School staff  have been working hard all year.  Help us 'Treat' them to a great week.  

There is still time to Sign up to Volunteer

We will be serving breakfast on Tuesday May 5th.  Please help us treat them to  Breakfast

Next Dine Out Thursday, May 14th McTeacher night 4-7pm 151 N. Lake Street, Mundelein, IL. Sparkles will be there.  Grimace should be there. Your favorite teachers will be selling pies for cash and tips.  Make sure you bring cash. If you are interested in volunteering check out our volunteer page. 

PTO Annual Meeting- You are invited to join us at our annual meeting on Tuesday May19th, 2026 6:00-7:00pm Diamond Lake Elementary School Library. Would you like a better idea of what the PTO does? Is there a skill that you would be able to use for the benefit of the schools? This would be a great meeting to attend.  At this meeting we will be voting on next year’s board and committee positions.  Nominations are now open. Would you like to serve as a committee chair or as part of the executive board for the PTO?  Do you have opinions about how the PTO can support our students and schools?  There is always room for more.
