Our school has partnered with Mundelein High School, along with Fremont and Carl Sandburg Middle Schools, for another great year of MASC. (Mundelein After School Coalition)
Our sports teams are continuing to grow and improve. Shout out to our 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams for some BIG wins this week!
We had 18 students participate in the White Coat Ceremony as they will take part in a Mini-Med School at Rosalind Franklin University!
Our students and staff did an excellent job during our fire and hard lockdown drills this week!
Mid-Terms: All families should receive their child's Mid-Term grades via email this afternoon. Please contact the Main Office if you do not receive this communication. Below are a few reminders:
Standards that are assessed will receive a number grade of 1-4, with no letter grades being given.
Standard grades will probably be a little lower at this point because students are just being exposed to their class' learning standards and will work towards mastery as we move further into the year.
Standards that do not have a number grade means that the standard has not been assessed at this point in the year.
Long Weekend: A friendly reminder that we will not have school on October 2nd and 3rd, and we will return and have a Late Start on October 6th.
Diamond Awards: New to this year, we ask families to complete this nomination Form if they would like to recognize a staff member they feel are going above and beyond with what they do in the classroom, school, or district. Please consider spreading the positivity bys highlighting the great work that staff our doing in our district.
Stem for Girls: We are excited to share that the Lake County STEM for Girls Conference is returning for its 7th year! The conference hosts women from various STEM fields who work directly with students with hands-on, real-world activities. Each session is interactive, inspiring, and designed to help girls see themselves in future STEM careers. Please sign up using this flyer.
MHS Tutoring: Mundelein High School students are offering a Peer Tutor Club at no charge on certain evenings at the Fremont Library for ages K-8th grade. These tutors are amazing students who enjoy working with students to help them find success. Here are the flyers in English/Spanish for more information.
MHS Monthly Tours: Mundelein High School is offering building tours throughout the school year to help acclimate their incoming students for next year. Please view this page for upcoming tours!
MHS Football: As Mundelein High School enters the fall, here is some important information about upcoming athletics events and community initiatives.
Friday Night Lights: MHS would like to welcome the community back to their stadium under the lights! These games provide a great opportunity for younger students to experience the excitement of high school athletics in a safe and spirited environment.

7:00pm - Varsity Football v. Lake Zurich
Friday, October 17 - Community Night, Red Rage Theme - WHITE OUT

Community Nights: This fall, MHS will be hosting several special Community Nights to celebrate youth participation and provide a connection to their programs:
Football – Friday, October 17
Safety & Game Day Policies
Unaccompanied minors: All K-8 students must be accompanied and actively supervised by a parent or a responsible adult.
Clear bag policy: For the safety of all guests, only clear bags will be permitted inside the stadium.
Online ticketing: All tickets for Friday events must be purchased through GoFan.
Attendance Matters: Attendance = Achievement! Middle school is a key time for students to develop habits that will carry them into high school and beyond. When students attend every day, they are more likely to keep up with lessons, participate in activities, and build the confidence they need to succeed. Even a few absences can make it harder to stay on track. Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a top priority!
Save the Date- October 20th: Culver's dine out fundraiser will be from 5:00-8:00pm. A volunteer sign-up will be coming soon.
Our Next PTO Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, from 6:00-7:00pm at the Diamond Lake Elementary School Library.
