Our school had a fun, positive, and productive February assembly last Friday!

We finished with our IAR testing this week and our students worked hard and did an amazing job!

Congratulations Band and Choir as they received high honors in their NIMCon competition!

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Our student-led Parent/Teacher conferences are right around the corner. Please sign up using this site. Conferences will once again be offered in-person and virtually. We look forward to  connecting with all of you soon!

5Essentials: A 5Essentials survey has been sent out to all parents. This survey is extremely important as it identifies how our school is doing in five crucial areas as identified on our Illinois State Report Card. We are in need of at least 20% of our parents to complete this survey. We appreciate your time in taking this short survey.

MHS Cultural Fair: Mundelein High School will be having its annual Cultural Fair on March 14th from 5:00-8:00pm. 

SHS Healthy Transition: All 8th grade parents of future Stevenson High School students are asked to view this flyer and attend their April 8th event called, "Making a Healthy Transition to Stevenson."

Mini-Med School: We are offering our current 6th and 7th grade students a Mini-Medical School opportunity this summer from June 9th to July 2nd. There are 30 spots available, and they are on a first enroll, first served basis. This cost-free program is sponsored by FSCS Grant from University Center of Lake County in collaboration with Rosalind Franklin University. Lunch and transportation from West Oak Middle School to the University is included. We will be leaving WOMS each day at 11:30am and arriving at the University Center to have lunch, and then having classes from 1 pm to 3:30pm. Students will then be transported back to their homes around 4:00pm. At the end of the program students will have a graduation ceremony and receive a diploma. Here is the Form that was shared with students this week. If you would like for them to be part of this amazing opportunity you are able to sign them up as well.

College Visit Opportunity: We are currently coordinating a college visit to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, April 5th, with the support of our FSCS Grant. This University is inviting Spanish-speaking students and their families to meet current students and faculty and to discover the many amazing reasons to be at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. During this time, students and families will be able to attend experiential workshops, hear a keynote speaker, engage with a student panel, and receive a campus tour. Here is the Form that was shared with all 7th and 8th grade students and here is a flyer with more information. 

• In order to go, it is MANDATORY that every student fill out this Form requested by the University.

Track: Our Track season is coming up soon and this sport offers a variety of events to participate in. Please review this letter for more information refer to this calendar for the practice and meet dates. OMNI Resources: OMNI Behavioral Health Services is offering a resource for the community, including assistance with SNAP benefit applications, unemployment applications, utility assistance, and more. For additional details, please refer to this flyer for more information. 

MHS Family Tour Dates: Mundelein High school will be offering one last monthly tour in April. Please review and RSVP for this event using this link. 

D76 CARES: At D76, the well-being of our students and families is our top priority. Understanding the critical role mental health plays in student success, we have launched D76 CARES - a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving access to quality mental health services across our community. D76 CARES stands for Community, Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement, and Support. Treatment services are initially provided free of charge to district families for up to 8 sessions. Summer School Registration: Summer Exploration Camp is filling up quickly!  This year we look forward to offering summer learning opportunities to D76 students who are entering Kindergarten-8th Grade in August of 2025.  Our Summer Exploration Camp is a fun way for students to engage in different activities, build relationships and socialize with their peers, and continue to develop academic skills.  Families are highly encouraged to register as soon as possible.  Click HERE to access the registration link.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Erica Berger, Director of Engagement & Growth eberger@dist76.org. 

Sincere Gratitude: Our race to the top for America's Favorite Pet has come to an end.  Princess Polly did not make it to the finals.  I want to personally thank all of you for your support and generosity.  With over 230,000+ dogs in this competition, it was amazing to see our girl make it to the semi finals.  This was quite an accomplishment. While she might not be the winner of America's favorite, Polly is definitely the D76 favorite and this is truly all that matters!

Illinois Achievement of Readiness (IAR): IAR Testing is complete!  Our students and staff did a great job completing each of the testing sections in both English Language Arts and in Math.  Students put forth their best effort and staff provided wholesome learning environments to ensure students felt supported.  If your child was absent during this testing cycle, we have been completing all makeups to the best of our ability.  If they missed multiple tests, we will continue to test next week in an effort to complete all testing by the time we leave for Spring Break. Please be aware that IAR test scores will not be shared with the district until early fall of 2025.  Test scores will be sent to families as soon as they become available, including scores for students who are graduating this May.

PTO: Please review the following PTO events listed below. 

• Monday March 17th- Come out to Hitz for our dine out day!  They will have St. Patrick's Day food specials along with live music.  You can do carry out, delivery or dine in!  Don't forget to mention D76 when ordering!!

• Tuesday March 18th- PTO meeting at 6pm in the Library at DLS.  Everyone is welcome!
