Hello! My name is Mrs. Sofia Alberts and I am so excited to be your child’s third grade teacher for the 2025-2026 school year! This will be my fourth year teaching 3rd grade at Prairie Grove. 3rd grade is such a special year full of growth and tons of fun! I am so excited for this school year and I look forward to working together as a team to ensure your child is successful! 

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I also received a minor in social work. I-L-L! I am currently attending Olivet Nazarene University, working towards my master's degree in reading! Following graduation, I will be a certified K-12 reading specialist. I love learning and hope to inspire your child to find the FUN and joy in learning.

Outside of PG, I live in Lake in the Hills with my husband Jon and our Mini Black Lab, Captain (named after Captain America)! We love golfing, playing board games, trying new food, and spending time with our friends and family! In addition, I enjoy reading, going to the pool, exercising, shopping, crafting, and watching TV! I also work as a dance instructor in my free time!

I believe in creating strong relationships with my students. I hope that as the year goes on, we find out the best way to make your learner successful! I know we are going to have a great year!
