About Mrs. Alberts

Hello! My name is Mrs. Sofia Alberts and I am so excited to be your child’s third grade teacher for the 2023-2024 school year! This will be my second year teaching 3rd grade at Prairie Grove. 3rd grade is such a special year full of growth and tons of fun! I am so excited for this school year and I look forward to working together as a team to ensure your child is successful! 

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I also received a minor in social work. I love learning and hope to inspire your child to find the FUN and joy in learning.

Outside of PG, I live in Lake in the Hills with my husband Jon and our black lab puppy, Captain! We love golfing, playing board games, trying new food, and spending time with our friends and family! In addition, I enjoy reading, going to the beach, exercising, shopping, skiing (snow and water), and watching TV! I also work as a dance teacher in my free time!

I believe in creating strong relationships with my students. I hope that as the year goes on, we find out the best way to make your learner successful! I know we are going to have a great year!
