Vineyards in Jesus' Time

A vineyard is a yard with vines. It's both the place where grapevines grow and the place where the initial steps of making wine happen. The hilly, rocky, limestone land and Mediterranean climate made much of Palestine a great place to grow grapes. Grape harvesting and wine-making was cause for celebration in ancient Palestine. Did you know? Grapes are about 70% juice!
