Mrs. Gillentine's Biography
My Role:
Speech, language, stuttering, AAC, and hard of hearing are all areas I support for students with specific needs at Parkview and Dillon Middle School.
Education:
Utah State University, B.S in Communication Sciences
Loma Linda University, M.S in Speech Sciences and Disorders
Background & Interests:
I am a mom of 3 and have been married to my favorite guy, Jamie, for 24 years. We enjoy camping, travel, cooking good food and time with extended family. When I have downtime I love to garden, enjoy a good book and a cup of tea.
This is my 2nd year in Dillon Elementary District and I've enjoyed getting to know students and families! We have an amazing group of teachers and staff to help your student grow this year. Parents are a key component of speech and language services. You know your child best! Providing home practice for speech sounds makes a big difference for your child's progress.
Our speech therapy services are a support service for students who are identified with needs that impact their ability to access curriculum and participate in academic progress.
If you have concerns about your child's ability to communicate, your teacher is a great first resource to discuss what you are noticing. Their expertise and daily interactions make a big difference for your child's speech and language development. Speech therapy is provided as part of the Special Education program. An IEP (Individual Education Plan) is developed for Special Education students who qualify for services. If you have questions about your child's IEP, you can reach me at Parkview or by email.
I look forward to working with our speech and language students to make a positive impact in their growth, self-confidence, and communication skills!
