Welcome to Parkview Elementary School
Welcome to Parkview Elementary School
Dear Families,
Welcome to second grade! I have been teaching for many years in the Dillon School District. I received my bachelor’s degree from Montana State University-Bozeman and my master’s degree from Montana State University – Billings.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to have your child in my class this year. I am looking forward to all the fun, learning, challenges, and growth that will take place!
Second grade is an exciting year as students continue to grow from the primary grades and become more independent learners. We will spend a lot of time building strong work habits, learning to take responsibility, developing organizational skills, and becoming confident problem-solvers. I know that if we all work TOGETHER, this will be a positive and successful year!
Every year, I see students thrive when they have consistency, encouragement, and high expectations. I will make this year as calm, engaging, and productive as possible. As we go through the school year, I ask you to keep the following in mind:
· Please allow me to set high expectations and encourage your child to meet those expectations. Your child is capable of great things!
· As 2nd graders, I will encourage students to take responsibility for their actions and learn from their choices. This is such an important skill to develop!
· In our classroom, we will learn that every choice has a consequence, whether it is positive or negative. We will talk about how we are in charge of making our own choices and can always work toward making better ones.
· I tell my students that they need to “help me help them.” For this year to be successful, they will need to meet me halfway by listening, participating, trying their best, and taking pride in their work.
Communication is key to our success! I believe that keeping an open line of communication between school and home is an important part of helping your child have a successful year. My primary means of communication for now is through email at djensen@dillonelem.k12.mt.us. Please feel free to reach out anytime you have a question, concern, or something you would like to share. If needed, you are also welcome to call the school, and they can get a message to me.
Please know that I am here for your children. I am dedicating this year to nurturing them, supporting them, encouraging them, and guiding them. I love teaching and promise to do everything I can to help your child learn, grow, and become the best 2nd grader they can be!
Thank you for working with me, supporting your child, and being understanding as we learn and grow together. I am excited for the wonderful year ahead and look forward to getting to know each of you and your children!
Sincerely,
Ms. Jensen
