Welcome to Parkview Elementary School
Welcome to Parkview Elementary School
Dear Families,
Welcome to third grade! I have been teaching for many years in the Dillon School district. I received my bachelor’s degree from Montana State University-Bozeman and my master’s degree from Montana State University – Billings.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to have your child in my class this year. I am looking forward to all the fun, challenges, and learning that will take place!
Third grade is a huge transition from the primary grades (Kinder-2nd) to the intermediate grades (3rd-5th). We will spend a lot of time working on developing strong work habits, organizational skills, and increasing student responsibility! I know if we all work TOGETHER that this will be a positive experience!
Every year I see the kids in my class thrive on consistency and high expectations. I will do my very best to help make this year as calm, engaging, and productive as possible. As we go through the school year, I ask you to keep the following in mind:
Please allow me to set high expectations and motivate your child to meet those expectations. Your child is capable of great things!
As 3rd graders, I will encourage them to take responsibility for their actions. This is such an important skill to learn!
In our class, we learn that every choice has a consequence, which can be positive or negative. We discuss daily how they are the only one who makes the final decision on what choices they make.
I tell my students every day that they need to “help me help them.” For this year to be successful, they will need to meet me halfway and do their best to pay attention and do their best work!
Please know that I am here for your kids. I am dedicating this year to nurturing them, supporting them, loving them, and guiding them. I love teaching and promise to do all that I can to help your child grow as much as possible as a 3rd grader! Thank you for working with me and being understanding as we work through the growing pains of becoming one of the “big kids” at Parkview!
Sincerely,
Ms. Jensen
