Study Overview

The Ministry of Transportation, Ontario (MTO) retained Dillon Consulting Limited to complete a Detailed Design and Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for the rehabilitation of the Bruin Road Bridge on Highway 416 in the City of Ottawa (see map).

The rehabilitation of the bridge is being completed in accordance with the MTO Class EA for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000) as a Group ‘C’ project. Upon completion of the detailed design study an Environmental Screening Document (ESD) will be prepared for MTO’s internal use to document the existing natural and socio-economic environment, summarize design features and potential impacts of the proposed works and identify the required environmental mitigation measures. Group ‘C’ projects are considered approved, subject to compliance with the Class EA.
