Masks / Facecoverings can no longer be mandated in Texas Public Schools per Governor Abbott's Executive Order GA38. However, we are strongly recommending individuals follow CDC guidelines which currently recommends the following regarding face coverings in school settings:

  • Indoors, the CDC recommends indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students and visitors, in K-12 schools (2 and older) regardless of vaccination status.

  • Outdoors, the CDC states people, in general, do not need to wear masks outdoors. However, particularily in areas of substantial to high transmission rates, CDC recommends that:

  • 1. people who are not fully vaccinated wear a mask in crowded outdoor settings 2. when vaccination status cannot be confirmed 3. when in contact with children under 12 years old due to their inability to receive a vaccination.
