The tutorial and practical exercise on RoboCup@Home was held on June 14, 2018 within the Spanish Robotics Conference in Valladolid (Spain).
Abstract:
RoboCup@Home is the largest world-wide initiative to benchmark domestic and service robots through scientific competitions. This tutorial provides an overview of the goals, the methodology, the results, the lessons learned, and the future of the RoboCup@Home competitions.
RoboCup@Home has inspired other competitions (e.g., European Robotics League Service Robots) and has produced many significant scientific results, attracted companies interested in investing in service and social robots, and has created a large community world-wide. Regional diffusion is achieved through local RoboCup@Home Education challenges, lowering the barriers to enter the competition.
