About Dr. Aaron Vinik
Dr. Aaron Vinik, MD, PhD, FCP, FACP, was internationally recognized for his groundbreaking research on hormone-secreting tumors and the chronic complications of diabetes. Over the course of his distinguished career, he was invited to lecture around the world and was widely regarded as a pioneer and thought leader in endocrinology and metabolic research. Dr. Aaron Vinik practiced and conducted clinical research for more than 50 years, with an academic and clinical career that spanned 63 years in medicine..
Dr. Vinik authored eight books and published more than 600 peer-reviewed scientific papers in leading medical journals, including Diabetes Care, International Journal of Endocrinology, World Journal of Gastroenterology, Diabetologia, Reviews in Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.
He received numerous honors from the American College of Physicians, the American Diabetes Association, the Southern Medical Association, the Royal College of Physicians, the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition, and the International Diabetes Federation. His research was supported by the National Institutes of Health, the National Cancer Institute, the Kroc Foundation, and the American Diabetes Association.
