This is my fifth year at Springhurst Elementary School as the K-5 School Counselor.
I received my undergraduate degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College in Social Science. I initially went to school for secondary education and completed my student teaching internship at the North Rockland School District. It was during my student teaching internship that I made the decision to pursue a career in School Counseling. Once I completed my undergraduate degree, I held a provisional position with the Rockland County Probation Department as a Probation Assistant. During this time, I pursued my Masters Degree in School Counseling. I attended Long Island University and I completed my internship with the North Rockland and East Ramapo School District.
After completing my masters degree, I worked at the Port Chester School District as a permanent substitute and completed a Long Term leave-replacement. I eventually became the Site Director for the after school program at the Port Chester Middle School. Some of my duties included, scheduling, parent workshops, facilitating staff meetings, collaborating with school administration and staff in identifying, and resolving student needs. During my time as a Site Director, I accepted a School Counseling Leave Replacement position at the Port Chester High School.
The following year, I became the Site Director for Thomas Edison Elementary School at the Port Chester School District before I received a School Counseling Leave Replacement position at Peekskill Middle School. Once my Leave Replacement was completed, I was hired as a part-time Middle School Counselor. Subsequently, I accepted a position as an Elementary School Counselor for a two year period prior to joining the Dobbs Ferry Union Free School District.
My goal is to provide proactive educational activities, which assist with building the necessary skills to serve as a foundation for academic achievement, and social emotional success. I am excited to be part of the Dobbs Ferry Union Free School District and continue to look forward to working with the community, staff and students.
