After completing my bachelors degree in English from SUNY Oswego, I worked as a child care worker at a residential treatment program with youth and adolescents. This experience inspired my journey into working with children and youth from all walks of life. I currently hold a masters in public administration from Keller Graduate School of Management and a Masters degree in social work from Fordham University. I have 20 years of experience working in various sectors from non profit organizations to health care and the education field. I have served in different capacities such as a child abuse advocate, assistant program director, mental health clinician and so forth. I have implements programs for youth in the educational sector to enhance their social emotional well being. Prior to joining the Dobbs Ferry community in 2018, I worked as a school based mental health clinician in Yonkers, where I conducted diagnosis of mental, emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders. I also provided psycho therapeutic treatment to students and their families through individual, group and family sessions.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified School Social Worker in New York State, I am committed to the well-being of my students. It is also my goal to provide the utmost therapeutic support in order to work diligently in meeting their needs of the students I work with and their families.
In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. , Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. This is a quote I hold dear and near to my heart because of my passion and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. In order to make that difference we must learn to speak up for our students in order to support them in every area of their lives.
