Hi there! I am so excited to be working as a school psychologist at Dobbs Ferry Middle. Every school year is a new opportunity to grow and I am excited to learn and grow with this community.
I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I recently graduated from Mercy College (right down the road) with my master's degree in School Psychology– bilingual extension. During my internship year, after three short months, my supervisor at the time believed in my capabilities and promoted me to a leave replacement position! This summer, I worked an extended school year program and learned tremendously about what it means to have compassion and patience with students– and why it is so important to have these traits as a school psychologist. I am a true believer in self care and I practice this by reading, learning ,spending time with my family/friends, and traveling!
I believe that strong connections with my students help them become successful learners and people in this world. My office is a space where mistakes are expected and welcome. I strive to collaborate with staff, administration, and parents through the use of the social-emotional learning curriculum, comprehensive evaluations, counseling, and behavior intervention plan to meet students' academic and social-emotional needs.
Conduct initial and triennial evaluations that include cognitive, academic, & social/emotional/behavioral assessments
If your child is due for a re-evaluation this year, they will be tested using the standardized batteries that were recommended at the last annual review meeting. Formal testing will take place in person to the greatest extent possible.
Regardless of whether your child is due for a re-evaluation or not, all parents and guardians will be invited to their child’s annual review meeting. Progress will be discussed and recommendations will be made for the following school year.
