Spring Conference

CRISIS EVENT:

During the Semo-Spring Crisis Event, delegates are tasked to role-play as world leaders representing there country in the midst of a crisis. The crisis differentiates between the two committees present.

2017 Crisis event:

G-20 Summit:

  • The G-20 Summit is a meeting or conference of the worlds top 20 economies. It was founded in 1999. the G20 aims to promote international financial stability. It seeks to address issues that go beyond the responsibilities of any one organization. In this conference, participants are due to role play as top executives of the countries they represent. Executives such as Enrique Peña Nieto, Jair Bolsonaro, Vladimir Putin, and even Donald Trump. Delegates are presented with a scenario such as international oil usage, and they vote and ratify proposals. The countries that form the G20 include; Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and the European Union.

Ad-Hoc Cabinet Committee

  • The AD-HOC is a meeting of the United States President, and his cabinet members. Delegates stay in one room where they role play as cabinet members, and are presented with a crisis scenario in which they must make rapid decisions on, such as passing executive orders

2018 Crisis event

Olympic Games

  • The Model U.N. formed a special task force of the worlds top super powers to establish protection for the people attending and competing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, but there is a twist to skew the whole thing.

South China Sea

  • The South China Sea disputes involve both island and maritime claims among several sovereign states within the region, namely Brunei, the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam
