Radio ECCA is an educational, communicative and social action institution, born in the Canary Islands on February 15, 1965. Radio ECCA uses technology (radio or ICT) to carry out its educational work. It has its own teaching system, the ECCA System, in which the pedagogical material, the audio class and the tutorial action are synchronized.
Throughout its history, more than two million people have enrolled in some of its training activities in different communities in Spain. Likewise, through institutional alliances, Radio ECCA is active in Latin America and West Africa. Our mission is the cultural empowerment of people and communities through training, social action, cooperation and communication.
Through training, social intervention and communication we promote a more egalitarian society and combat impoverishment and economic precariousness, social and health vulnerability and gender inequality. Thus, for Radio ECCA, education is the main tool to improve people's lives and bring about social integration. Career guidance, psychosocial support, quality information, development cooperation and cultural and service radio programming are other tools aimed at the same educational mission.
What will we do?
Volunteers will join the CaixaProinfancia Program, developed in Seville and whose objective is to work socio-educationally with families in unfavorable socioeconomic situations and with minors in their care from a global and integral point of view.
By volunteering as support figures to the technician in charge of the urban colony services, we hope that the care provided can be of higher quality and the children can also be enriched by the contributions of the person who develops their volunteering.
The program is aimed at children and adolescents between 0 and 18 years of age whose families, in a situation of poverty and/or social exclusion, are in processes of care and/or social accompaniment, present deficiencies in their needs and have the capacity and willingness to promote.
In this sense, it offers the following services to families:
1. pro-education services:
● Educational reinforcement.
● Speech therapy
Psychomotor support
● Open centers
● Camps and colonies
● Family educational workshops
Pro-health services:
● Child nutrition and hygiene.
● Eyeglasses and hearing aids
● Psychological support
Volunteering would be framed within the leisure and free time subprogram. Volunteers will specifically develop their activity in the on-site service of urban colony (summer schools). This is a leisure and free time service that takes place from Monday to Friday in the city of Seville with minors who are in a situation of special vulnerability.
By developing their volunteering as support figures to the technician / a holder of urban colony services, we hope that the care provided can be of higher quality and the minors can also be enriched by the contributions of the person who develops their volunteering.
Schedule of activity:
Monday to Friday (4 days from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and one day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.). The attendance of the volunteer will be adjusted to his/her availability in hours, according to this schedule.

A training course on Good Treatment will be carried out beforehand.
The program is aimed at children and adolescents between 6 and 17 years of age who are in a situation of special vulnerability and whose families, in a situation of poverty and/or social exclusion, are in the process of care and/or social accompaniment.
