Amoverse's mission is to accompany children, adolescents, young people and families in situations of social vulnerability or at risk of social vulnerability, promoting their opportunities for personal, family and professional growth, and fostering their dignity and full integration into society.
The experience is framed within the "Espacio Cometa", https://www.soycometa.org/#proyectos, aimed at children, adolescents and young people from 6 to 17 years old in a situation of social vulnerability. Each one of them has a story, with difficulties and opportunities that make them unique and different. We believe in the capacity for change in our intervention based on Human and Children's Rights.
What we call Espacio Cometa consists of three types of activities:
Space for growth: activities during the school year from Monday to Thursday for two hours.
Friday outings and excursions.
Summer activities: urban colonies or camps with overnight stay. This project invites you to participate in these activities.
Thanks to your participation in the team composed of professionals and other volunteers, we will facilitate the reconciliation of families, and children will have the opportunity to participate in a space where they can continue to develop their skills, interacting in a positive way and having access to the same experiences and opportunities as other children of the same age in a climate of good treatment and protection of their rights.
Having volunteers allows the boys and girls to have a greater diversity of reference figures and to be able to make a much more individualized intervention. In addition, the fact that there are young people who altruistically dedicate their vacation time to accompany them gives them back a very valuable image of themselves.
Schedule of activities (approximate):
9-15 h from Monday to Thursday.
9-17 h on Fridays.
Full availability during the seven days of the camp with overnight stay outside Madrid (dates to be determined). Due to the fact that the dates of the overnight camp and the place where it will take place are still to be determined, we need availability and flexibility from the people attending the activity.
Prior to the start of the camp, volunteers will participate in three areas:
- During the month of June: programming of the activities (remotely). Dates will be confirmed.
- July 1: meeting with the team.
- July 2: training on Good Treatment.
A certificate of crimes of a sexual nature or equivalent will be requested.
All boys and girls, from 6 to 17 years old, belonging to the neighborhoods where the projects are located (Pozo and Ventilla). It is the neighborhood that marks the place of the recipients. The spaces of the foundation's intervention are intended to reflect the reality of the neighborhood, normality, inclusion and the capacity to integrate. Priority is given to those minors in a situation of social vulnerability and with greater needs, although without losing sight of the fact that it is a resource for the neighborhood.
Common and mandatory training days. The group selected for the project will meet to share information with the organization prior to the start of the project. A specific training schedule to address identified needs will be developed for the months prior to the project.
Shared apartment in Madrid for volunteers. Only during the overnight camp the organization will be in charge of accommodation and meals.
The student assumes the management and payment of the transfers to the place of intervention.
To have a valid COVID passport.
