Biography
Lidia Loban is an associated professor in the area of Accounting and Finance at Deusto Business School (San Sabastian, Spain).
She holds a PhD in Financial Economics and Accounting from the University of Zaragoza. She defended her Doctoral Thesis: Active management in mutual funds with concentrated benchmarks: A major dilemma to fulfill the EU directive on portfolio concentration limits in November 2021, obtaining the maximum grade (Cum Laude) and the International Mention.
Her research focuses on the analysis of European Mutual Funds more specifically, on portfolio compositions, active management and risk determinants. She has published several papers in scientific journals indexed in the Journal Citation Report, such as the International Review of Financial Analysis Journal; Financial research letter and Journal of Multinational Financial Management.
She has presented different works at international conferences, including the 28th Annual Global Finance Conference (GFC), the 30th Annual Meeting European Financial Management Association (EFMA), 19th Annual International Conference on Finance (ATINER), the 11th Portuguese Finance Network Conference (PFN) at the 2024 European Conference (FMA).
Not only that, but she is a member of Instituto Universitario de Investigación en Empleo, Sociedad Digital y Sostenibilidad (IEDIS) and ICES: Innovación, Conocimiento, Emprendimiento y Sostenibilidad. Furthermore, she has chaired both scientific and organizational committees of research congresses, being a founding member and second president of the BBS research seminar series of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Zaragoza. She has also been a founding member and secretary of the ECN-ACEDE in 2023.
She has received several scholarships and research awards, and she has participated in various research projects, both national and European and international.
She teaches subjects in the area of Finance, such as Financial Maths,, Corporate Finance, Stock Markets and Accounting.
