Students explored the Element of Art - LINE to create one of a kind hair styles for Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

All About Me

6th students created "All About Me" drawings for their art portfolios this semester.  It is great to see their originality and creativity!!!

Color Theory Paintings

Students learned about Color theory.  Students explored how to mix Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, Tints and Shades in a painting.

Surrealism Rooms

Students learned how to draw using perspective.  Students learned how to create a 3D room using collage to demonstrate the art of Surrealism.

Ceramic Gnome Homes

Students explored with earth clay to create 3D forms.  Students learned about the materials, techniques, processes of clay.  

Dia de Los Muertos

Students created mini Ofrendas (altars) about loved ones to celebrate their lives.  Students learned about form, texture and collage.

Shape Notans

Students learned about SHAPES in art and how to use them to create a Notan, a Japanese word for positive and negative space.  Organic and geometric shapes were cut and glued to create the design.

Animal LINE Designs

Students used a variety of LINES, patterns, and repetition to create unique pieces of art.

I Am. . . Sketchbook Cover Designs

Students created individual sketchbook covers including images about themselves.  Very inspiring and colorful.

Warm & Cool Color Organic Printed Flower Blossom Books 

Students explored and learned how to create Styrofoam prints on decorated paper to be transformed into a handmade book.

Ceramic Monster Vessels

Shape & Form Drawings

Students learned about shape & form in art.  Perspective forms were drawn with 3D manikin figures.  Students learned to blend colors to show form in a drawing.

LINE LANDSCAPES

Students used LINE and SPACE to create landscapes.

Symmetrical Name Creatures

Name Art

Students created drawings, incorporating their names, about themselves their interests, hobbies and activities they enjoy.  

Elements of Art Cube

Each student explored the Elements of art: line, shape, color, value, texture, space and form to create an artistic 3D cube.  Students also used a variety of art materials.

Exquisite Corpse

Students created Exquisite Corpses with others in the art room.  An Exquisite Corpse is an image drawn by three different artists that have not seen each other’s ideas.  Each artist draws a separate part of the body and then the separate parts are assembled to create weird and imaginary creatures.  

Cubism Portraits

Students explored the Element of Color to create Cubist style self-portraits.  Cubism is a style of art depicting objects from multiple viewpoints with geometric shapes and angles.  Students used a front  and profile view of their self to create their artwork.

Toilet Paper Food Sculptures

Students created their favorite foods or dishes using an everyday material, toilet paper.  Students learned how to manipulate and mold the wet paper to create sculptural forms that dry hard and are able to be painted.


Mini Canvas Acrylic Paintings

Students created mini canvas acrylic paintings of an animal or creature.  Students learned how to use and apply acrylic paints and techniques to create a one of kind work of art.
