OLR limited to Distance Learning requests OLR for Distance Learning is only needed if parent/guardian is requesting their student(s) remain in distance learning for the remainder of the school year. Parents who do not wish to remain in distance learning do not need to complete this process. There is no "No" option within the questionnaire - district is only capturing requests for distance learning. Students who have no recorded Yes response will be counted as returning to school if/when schools reopen.

Registration is Now Online!!

Attention all Desert Sands families!

We are happy to announce that beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, DSUSD is moving to online registration. The registration window will open in August.

If you do not currently have a ParentVUE account, please visit the front office BEFORE THE END OF THE 2018-2019 school year to receive directions and an activation code to create an account. An active ParentVUE account is necessary to participate in annual online registration.

Please note that all incoming kindergarten students and new students to the district will still need to complete a paper registration packet during your school’s registration window. These packets can be picked up at Roosevelt. The registration window for new kindergarten students opens on April 23, 2019. Contact the office for specific registration times. Click the Online Registration Flyer link below for more information.

In elementary school, our job as educators and parents is to teach our children good life habits - the importance of showing up, being present, and attending school. What we model today in the elementary years, our children will replicate in middle school and high school. Showing up is more than just attending school; it is a commitment, and it represents responsibility. As parents and teachers, we are important role models, and instilling good habits starts with us. When making your holiday plans, please don't let your vacation time take away school time. Let's show them that we can enjoy our vacations AND make it back to school on time, ready to end 2019 strong and have a great start to 2020.
