Alfonso Olachea - 7th grade counselor

Mr. Alfonso Olachea - 7th/8th grade Counselor

Hello Everyone!

I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to serve DRA as a counselor. I am a product of the Coachella Valley, having attended Coachella Valley High School. I completed my BA in Music at UC Riverside and spent the last 4 years in the bay area, graduating from CSU East Bay in June of 2016 with my MA in Music and MS in Counseling. This year will be my first year as a doctorate at the University of Redlands where I will be pursuing my Ed.D in Leadership for Educational Justice.

Some of my hobbies are producing music, supporting my sport teams (Miami Dolphins, LA Dodgers, Chelsea FC), and playing video games. I am excited for this school year and look forward to connecting with students and families, as well as supporting the community. Go Diamondbacks!

Sarah McNaughton - Counselor

Mrs. Sarah McNaughton - Intervention Counselor

It is truly an honor and privilege to be a School Counselor at Desert Ridge Academy. After serving as an Intervention Specialist at DRA for the 2018-2019 school year, I am excited to continue building relationships with students, assisting parents, and supporting teachers and staff.

In 2015, I graduated with my BA in Psychology from Vanguard University in Orange County. After graduation, I continued my education at the University of Redlands, where I received my MA in Education: School Counseling. I am dedicated to a wholistic approach for development of each student, both academically and social/emotionally. I have an enthusiastic and empathetic counseling style and I look forward to providing my counseling services to all DRA students as the Intervention Counselor.

My goal is to be a school counselor that makes an impact in the overall school environment. A few of my favorite things include yoga, pilates, Starbucks runs, hiking, the beach, fellowship, and laughter. I am very passionate about what I do, and I am very optimistic for this school year. GO DIAMONDBACKS!!
