Modules

Course Structure

1. Online Theory Course

2. Optional Hands-on Workshop & Case Studies (Currently Not Available)

PS - Evidence of prior learning and portfolios will also be considered prior to any enrollment.

1. Online Theory

Learners must complete several modules, as well as the ensuing online quizzes prior to attending the hands-on workshop. This will consist of multiple choice or missing answer type questions from the relevant study materials. The results are mapped to the relevant learning outcomes. Learners should use the content within a specific module to aid successful completion of the quizzes.

2. Optional Hands-on Workshop & Case Studies (Currently Not Available)

Learners will attend a 1-day hands-on workshop during which a practical assessment will take place. The first part of the morning session will include a brief summary of online theory, technical aspects of equipment, protocols and observational learning.  The late morning and afternoon sessions will allow for extensive hands-on training involving volunteer participants. It will test whether a leaner will be able to provide safe and effective treatments within a clinical setting (learning outcome 4).

After successful completion of the practical sessions, learners must produce a minimum of 2 case studies (from their own practice) as part of a portfolio of evidence. This is required to be completed and witnessed by a senior colleague, salon owner or administrative staff member who must observe the treatments being performed, to ensure that they meet the given criteria (learning outcome 5).
